South Portland is a beautiful coastal community that was established in 1898 after separating from Cape Elizabeth. Located just south of Portland and about 90 mins from Boston, Massachusetts; South Portland boasts beautiful beaches, peaceful parks and a walking trail that takes you from one end of the city to the other. South Portland offers both public and private schools and is also home to Husson College and the Southern Maine Community College which is part of the University of Maine system. South Portland offers both a diverse population and is also a great shopping destination. The community offers a great mix of small, locally owned businesses and large nationally known chain stores. The Maine Mall, the largest mall in the state, enjoys calling South Portland its home.

About Michael

My real estate background dates back to when I was around 12 years old helping my older siblings (I have ten siblings) clean apartments owned by my parents. By 14, I was helping carpenters renovate apartments during school vacations.   Removing plaster from walls was my specialty before I started painting.  I think I got more paint on me than the walls.

Little did I know I would return to my real estate roots when I accepted a corporate real estate executive position with Xerox Corporation in Stamford, CT. I was in charge of negotiating real estate contracts for the Northeast Region. I worked with large New York City metropolitan area developers, brokerage firms and corporations.

I have a BS degree in Accountancy from Bentley University and an MBA degree from Penn State University’s Smeal Graduate School of Business. I taught managerial accounting while matriculating at Penn State.

Prior to graduate school I was an accountant in Lexington, MA, with a semiconductor firm later purchased by Texas Instruments.  After Xerox I founded a real estate brokerage agency and later a real estate development company in Portland. I've brokered, built and managed various types of real estate including single-family, multi-unit, waterfront, office, retail, hospitality, industrial and land.

I have experience in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate including site selection, feasibility, zoning, planning, design, placement, contractual negotiations, construction, marketing, and tenant fit-up.  I assist clients, including individuals, corporations, developers, REITs, private wealth funds and 1031 exchanges, with their real estate requirements, locally and nationally.  My financial and developmental expertise enable me to add value beyond brokerage.

I welcome the opportunity to assist you with your real estate requirement.
