Yarmouth is a mid-sized suburb of Portland, Maine, with gorgeous oceanfront and riverfront neighborhoods. Like many towns in this area, Yarmouth has a prevalent boating/sailing community.
Yarmouth has a diversified commercial base of small businesses offering everything one could possibly be looking from its locally owned and operated shops, to the greenhouse/garden center and restaurants. Because Yarmouth is only 12 miles north of Portland, many residents commute into the city for work.

Yarmouth is a classic, New England style community with a lovely town center called Yarmouth Village. Yarmouth Village has great shopping and several delicious restaurants.
The Yarmouth Clam Festival is one of the region’s most popular events, bringing local nonprofits, children, and adults, together to celebrate the community and raise money for charity. The Clam Festival features activities like a parade, fireworks, live music and road races.
The Summer Arts Series at Royal River Park is also very popular. It offers free outdoor performances at the Royal River Park (movie night, live music, kids activities and shows).
Residents of Yarmouth tend to spend time in and around the water. Sandy Point town beach is a picturesque beach open to the public on Cousins Island.
In general, this is a very active community with great hiking and biking trails, hockey rinks, and fitness centers.
The Yarmouth Public School system is very well regarded, and Yarmouth High School was ranked the number one high school in the entire state of Maine.
North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) is a private school located downtown Yarmouth. NYA students have access to the recently renovated Travis Roy Ice Area and fitness center on campus.
