There are several lovely parks and summer concert venues along the Fore River in South Portland including, Mill Creek Park and Bug Light Park, and Maine State Pier is just across the river in Portland. The Lyric Music Theater, Mad Horse and the Portland Players, are also great places to catch a show in South Portland.
The Portland Science Center is a wonderful, interactive place to take children for an afternoon.
Enjoy great food and the best views in town at Saltwater Grille on Front Street at Sunset Marina. Eat inside or out on the fabulous deck as the sea breeze kicks up on those hot afternoons. Elsmere BBQ on Shore Road smokes up amazing Texas style BBQ – another local favorite.

South Portland Schools are excellent, known for top academics, sports and arts and music programs. The private schools in the area are also well respected; some of the most popular are Greater Portland Christian, Waynflete, and Holy Cross School.

There are dozens of community events, fairs, and concerts year round, and there is perfect balance of togetherness and privacy.
