Saco is a happening community year-round thanks to its vibrant waterfront and dozens of entertainment options. Main Street and Pepperell Square are two of the most popular places to dine and shop in Saco.

The Saco Museum, founded in 1866, offers an outstanding collection of decorative arts and historic items primarily from the Saco Valley.

Funtown Splashtown, USA is a large waterpark on Route 1 in Saco, perfect for hot summer days with the family. For movies, check out the excellent Cinemagic and IMAX movie theater on Route 1.

The Saco Sidewalk Art Festival and the Saco Main Street Harvest Festival are two of the areas most popular annual events.

Food & Drink

New Moon Restaurant is an intimate venue on Pepperell Square just off Main Street serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It features bistro food at moderate prices.

Traditions Ristorante is a cozy restaurant at 162 Main Street serving traditional Italian fare and featuring a beautiful mahogany bar. Dependable for friendly service, good food and reasonable pricing.

Recreation

Saco Bay Trails has made it their mission to create and maintain a network of trails for public use. These trails are great for walking, running, and hiking, as well as cross-country skiing in the winter.

The Biddeford Saco Country Club is a beautiful 18-hole, Donald Ross course.

Saco Sport and Fitness is a popular health club in Saco.

Schools & Community

Saco's elementary, middle and secondary schools have an excellent reputation.  Thornton Academy, founded in 1811, is an independent school providing education for 6th through 12th graders and serves as Saco's high school.
