The town is less than an hour from bustling Portland and the Sunday River ski resort, 30 minutes from Attitash Mountain Resort in Bartlett, NH, and only about 10 minutes from North Conway, NH.

For a relatively small town, Fryeburg has a great big personality. The local residents enjoy spending time outside in the Saco River, White Mountains, and the lovely lakes of western Maine.

Fryeburg is perhaps most well-known for the Fryeburg Fair, which attracts hundreds of thousands of people to the town in early October. The scale and popularity of this fair is unmatched by any other agricultural fair in Maine.

Because Fryeburg is located so close to the White Mountains, many residents are passionate skiers and hikers. There is also great mountain biking in this area.
