For a relatively small town, Fryeburg has a great big personality. The local residents enjoy spending time outside in the Saco River, White Mountains, and the lovely lakes of western Maine.

Fryeburg is perhaps most well-known for the Fryeburg Fair, which attracts hundreds of thousands of people to the town in early October. The scale and popularity of this fair is unmatched by any other agricultural fair in Maine.

Fryeburg has several wonderful dining options, including the Oxford House Inn which has gourmet restaurant and a lively pub called Jonathan's.

For BBQ lovers, 302 West is a can’t-miss smokehouse, tavern, and music venue in downtown Fryeburg.


Because Fryeburg is located so close to the White Mountains, many residents are passionate skiers and hikers. There is also great mountain biking in this area.

Fryeburg is a classic New England village with a very welcoming, inclusive feel. This tight-knit community is active year-round and takes great pride in their historic town.

Public school children in Fryeburg attend the Maine School Administrative District #72, which serves several of the neighboring towns as well.

Fryeburg Academy is a private co-educational school that also serves as the high school for MSAD #72 students. This high school has a strong reputation and is well-respected throughout the state of Maine.
