Sales Up 9.04% Statewide

The Maine Association of Realtors® released the latest rolling quarter sales statistics today for the Maine real estate market.  Statewide, the number of homes sold has increased 9.04% from the same period last year, while the median sales price has eased down 4.29%

Looking more closely at the county statistics, you will see that many counties saw double digit increases in the number of homes sold.  Some counties, such as Kennebec, saw double digit increases in the median sales price as well.  Statistics can only tell you so much.  Contacting a trusted Maine Real Estate Network Realtor® for a more in depth analysis of your specific area is the best way to find out about current market trends and how they may impact your sale or purchase.

For example, the chart below shows a decrease in the number of homes sold in Cumberland county from this time last year, however our Cumberland county real estate experts know that the decrease is fueled primarily by a low inventory of available homes for sale in that area.  Buyers are lining up to purchase homes in Cumberland County, but well priced homes are moving quickly and some buyers are loosing out by not moving aggressively enough with their offer.

Please do contact us with any questions or if you would like a more detailed analysis.  We will be happy to match you up with a trusted local expert for your area.
