The Wiscasset area is teeming with local culture. The Montsweag Roadhouse offers live music and there is a cultural arts center in nearby Bath known as The Chocolate Church.

While many people think of Wiscasset as a summer community because of its beautiful waterfront and summer concerts on the Wiscasset Common, it is truly a great place to live year round. Wiscasset Winterfest is one of the most highly anticipated events every year.

There is also a wonderful walking tour of Wiscasset which takes you through this historic village and offers beautiful views of the ocean.

Food & Drink

Red’s Eats is one of the most popular destinations in Wiscasset. This small, takeout restaurant has received national acclaim for its delicious seafood, generous portions, and reasonable prices.​

Little Village Bistro is another great place to eat in Wiscasset. This small, charming restaurant has a delicious menu and a great tap list.

Recreation

Located on the Back River, which flows into the Atlantic, Wiscasset is an active waterfront community that loves boating, sailing, fishing and swimming.

There is a well-equipped community center which offers swim classes, yoga, and day camp for kids. Golf and hiking are also very popular activities in Wiscasset.

Schoos & Community

The Wiscasset School Department has a strong reputation throughout the community. Lincoln Academy, a co-educational private high school, is located about 10 miles from downtown Wiscasset in Newcastle.
