Main Street in Damariscotta is a wonderful mix of boutiques, eateries and craft shops. People are very welcoming and of course, there is the beauty of the Damariscotta River to enjoy as you walk through town.

The Lincoln Theater is a great place to catch a movie or a play in downtown Damariscotta or go just across the river into Newcastle to the Poe Theater.

Food & Drink

King Eider Pub is known for their pub atmosphere and crab cakes. The River Grill is a local favorite and stays busy throughout the year.

Recreation

Some of the most popular activities in Damariscotta include hiking, kayaking, boating and golf. There are miles of safe beautiful hiking trails in the area. There are also several lakes in the area and gorgeous beaches within 10 miles.

Damariscotta has biking and kayaking groups that get together regularly and winter full moon snowshoe parties.

Schools & Community

Damariscotta public school children attend the Central Lincoln County School System (AOS 93) which has very strong academics.

Lincoln Academy in Newcastle is a popular private school in the area.
