Cumberland Culture

Cumberland is a suburban community with strong ties to the coast, which is one of the most attractive aspects of the town. This lovely town is also home of the Cumberland Fair, one of the state's larger agricultural fairs held yearly at the end of September.

Food & Drink

Louie's Grille, located at 319 Main St., was named after the owner, Jim Guidi's beloved family dog, offers both lunch and dinner menus and features desserts by Cumberland Bakery.

Doc's Cafe & Marketplace, located at 371 Tuttle Rd, is a local community coffee shop and cafe.  Every Thursday during the Summer and Fall seasons visitors can enjoy live music and special Grill Night menu.

Cumberland Farmer's Market is held each Saturday from 9-12 at 290 Tuttle Rd and provides a bevy of locally grown & organic meats, dairy, fresh produce and quality Maine-made crafts.


Cumberland is known for its top-tier recreation facilities, including the Val Halla Golf and Recreation Center, the Twin Brook Recreation Area and the Cumberland Fairgrounds, in addition to miles of trails maintained by the town for public use.

Schools & Community

The school system that serves Cumberland is known as Maine School Administrative District 51 or MSAD 51 and has an excellent reputation.  There are four schools in the district – which also serves North Yarmouth, Maine: the Mabel I. Wilson School, North Yarmouth Memorial School, Greely Middle School, and Greely High School. The district is planning to close the North Yarmouth Memorial School and expand the Greely Middle School.
