There is so much to do in Bethel, it’s no wonder it has become one of Maine’s most popular vacation destinations. There are dozens of great concerts and festivals here year-round, and there are several art galleries and museums including the Maine Mineral & Gem Museum and the Maine Ski Museum.

Recreation

The Bethel community loves to spend time outdoors. While skiing at Sunday River is the most popular local activity, there are also amazing hiking trails and a well-maintained bike path.

Because of Bethel’s location along the Androscoggin River, many residents and visitors enjoy canoeing, kayaking, tubing, swimming and fishing in the summer.

Schools & Community

MSAD 44 is the regional, public school system and the elementary level schools are particularly well-regarded. In 2016, Telstar Regional High School began incorporating experiential learning through the local 4H campus in order to give student outdoor and hands on lessons for practical academics.
